Commissioning a work of art is a rewarding endeavor for both client and artist. Join me on a journey of creation. Your idea combined with my design and sculpting skills will yield an amazing statement piece for home or office, or heirloom piece for yourself, your family or friend. Start a Commission!
Collaboration: The photos you see below are a sampling of the commissions I have done recently. The collaboration process between artist and client results in a work of art that is part client and part artist. Even if you have never commissioned a work of art before, you will be amazed at how easy it is. Together we can decide on size, material, subject, design, budget and time frame! If you know exactly what you want great, the process is the same, just faster!
Community Involvement: For the larger commissions such as the Virginia McAlester commission pictured below, I can include community events if you like. For the Virginia McAlester sculpture, I hosted a "Welcome the Italian stone to Texas Wine Party" where we welcomed the stone with Texas wine, a "Carve With Me" party where anyone could come and, under my direction, carve on the sculpture and an "Infuse the Sculpture With Love" sanding party! The response of community involvement was amazing and added the extra touch that makes the sculpture even more special. Virginia touched a lot of lives and a lot of lives contributed to her tribute sculpture.
Good Will: If I cannot fulfill your wishes for your special work of art, I will not accept the commission. If I know of an artist that is better suited for your project I will refer you to them. If there are unforeseen/unavoidable circumstances, I will let you know as soon as I know. If what you want is not physically or financially possible I will be honest and up front about that. For example I am working on a commission right now where the client wanted me to carve a stone from his father's homestead. The stone was too fragile and carving would cause it to crumble so I suggested using his stone as a base for a sculpture carved from stronger stone. We are both excited about the final design and his heirloom stone will be safe while also being honored.
